A concrete slab poured over metal decking bears on a structural steel edge beam, detailed with two continuous number four reinforcing bars and number three bars spaced at twelve inches on center. A twelve gauge continuous edge form retains the slab edge with a maximum cantilever of two feet seven inches. An L5x5x3/8 angle is positioned at a maximum spacing of ten feet zero inches and aligned with the beam on the opposite side. A 3/8 inch plate is welded to the supporting steel with a 1/4 inch fillet weld applied to two sides.
