A utility or service pipe up to 14 inches in diameter penetrates a concrete basement wall through an embedded High-Density Polyethylene Schedule 40 or steel Schedule 40 pipe sleeve poured at a 45-degree angle. Vertical reinforcing bars interrupted by the sleeve are supplemented by additional continuous vertical bars divided equally on each side of the embedment. Horizontal reinforcing bars are spaced as detailed on the structural plans with no additional horizontal reinforcement required. A link-seal type product provides waterproofing around the pipe penetration.
