This structural detail shows a concrete slab depression greater than four inches supported by a wide flange beam where the metal deck flutes run perpendicular to the beam. Two continuous number four reinforcing bars run parallel to the depression edge. A continuous four-by-four-by-three-eighths-inch angle with standard ninety-degree hooks is positioned vertically at the drop. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld at twelve-inch spacing is applied typically along the connection. The bearing width on the steel beam provides a minimum of two inches.
