A steel beam and metal roof deck connect to a concrete tilt-up wall panel using a minimum 5-inch by 5-inch by 3/8-inch steel angle. This angle secures to the wall via PSA slotted inserts (Type 6035) spaced at a maximum of 36 inches on center, utilizing 3/4-inch diameter bolts with 3-inch by 3-inch by 1/2-inch plate washers. The bolts center within 5-inch slots in the angle to allow for movement parallel to the wall, with nuts finger-tightened and tack-welded to the bolts to maintain the connection. A 3/8-inch bent plate sits at the interface, and firestop material fills the gap between the deck and the wall. The vertical position of the insert places the bolt 1 inch from the top of the vertical slot, maintaining a minimum edge distance of 24 inches from the wall edge, or 9 inches at thickened jambs.
