A steel beam frames into the web of a supporting member using a welded shear tab and four high-strength bolts. A vertical plate stiffener is welded across the web and flanges of the supporting beam to prevent web yielding under concentrated loads. The shear tab is welded to the supporting beam web with fillet welds on both sides. Four bolts secure the supported beam web to the shear tab.
