Open-web steel joists bear atop a structural steel girder supporting a metal roof deck. Two 1/2-inch-diameter A325 erection bolts secure the joist seats at all joists spanning 40 feet or more. Bottom chord bracing is provided by the joist or girder supplier, typically located at the joist nearest the mid-span of the girder and as otherwise determined by the supplier. Welds connect the joist assembly to the supporting steel girder.
