A haunched wide flange beam is detailed with a top cope and a slotted bottom plate. A slotted plate is provided around the web for the bottom plate length, where the maximum slot width equals the web thickness plus one-eighth inch. The top flange features a maximum one-inch cope with a specified maximum cope length and a minimum of one stud per foot. Connections to the support follow standard typical structural details unless noted otherwise, based on the unhaunched wide flange beam size.
