An HSS4x4 tube column extends upward from the roof level to form the structural parapet framework, tied back with an HSS8x6x3/8 outrigger welded to the back of an L8x6x1/2 angle at the push-pull connection. A three-quarter-inch by twelve-inch by twelve-inch base plate occurs at the posts, supported by a shear tab and stiffener plate with a minimum thickness of three-eighths of an inch. Additional stability is provided by an HSS6x4x5/16 horizontal member running between vertical posts, connected with quarter-inch fillet welds and a quarter-inch cover plate. An L4x4x1/4 brace is installed at locations where the cornice occurs.
