Boundary element ties extend down from the concrete shear wall into the supporting foundation concrete with hooked ends. The tie size and spacing match the typical size and spacing used in the wall above. A minimum twelve-inch extension or embedment is provided. Cross-references direct the builder to shear wall sections and elevations for further detailing.
