A continuous single track metal stud bears on a hollow structural section steel beam sized per plans, sections, or details. Two one-quarter-inch diameter self-tapping screws at eight inches on center secure the track connection to the steel beam, with two self-tapping screws provided on each side of the jamb studs. Number ten sheet metal screws are fastened on each side at every stud condition. An alternate track-to-beam connection specifies fillet welds of one-eighth inch sized per design.
