A wide flange beam connects to a wide flange column top using a three-quarter inch by eight inch by one foot six inch cap plate secured with eight three-quarter inch diameter A490 bolts. Stiffener plates aligned with the column flanges are welded inside the beam web with quarter-inch fillet welds. Additional half-inch fillet welds secure the connection assembly.
