A concrete masonry unit wall connects to a concrete slab on grade, with elevated slab installations following similar detailing. Two continuous number five reinforcing bars run horizontally through the slab, while vertical continuous dowels match the wall reinforcing and feature alternate hooks embedded in the thickened slab section. A forty-eight bar diameter lap splice connects the vertical dowels to the wall reinforcement. Slab reinforcement is sized per the structural plans.
