This moment connection joins two wide flange beams to a hollow structural section column using top and bottom plates and bolted shear tabs. The top plate is 3/8 inch thick and secured with two 5/8 inch diameter A325N bolts per side. The bottom plate is 1/2 inch thick and attached to the beam flanges with four 5/8 inch diameter A325N bolts per side, with a 1/4 inch fillet weld connecting the plate to the column. The beam webs are connected to the column via 3/8 inch thick shear plates with a 3 inch bolt spacing and a 1 1/2 inch beam gauge. The assembly includes specific clearances of 1 1/2 inches for bolt spacing and edge distances.
