Connecting wide flange beams frame into the flange of a wide flange column at the top of the column. A shear plate of thickness "T" per schedule connects the beam web with a quantity "Q" of high-strength bolts per schedule typically, with a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld on three sides on each side of the web. A cap plate matches the column flange thickness with a one-half inch minimum. The weld size is per schedule typically.
