The assembly joins channel chord ties across steel joists using a 3/8-inch by 2 1/2-inch by 1-0-foot strap plate centered over the splice. A continuous bottom plate as shown on plan runs along the underside, supplemented by a 1/4-inch by 12-inch by 1-0-foot splice plate between joists. Field welding includes typical fillet welds designated by 1/4-inch, 1/8-inch, and 3/16-inch sizes. Additional inset details show the strap plate configuration bent as required at the ridge and valley, and detailed between joists.
