Condition 2 applies when the root opening exceeds three-sixteenths of an inch with a skew angle greater than sixty degrees, utilizing a complete joint penetration weld with a supplemental fillet weld. Condition 3 applies when the shape plate is flush, using standard fillet welds of size "S" on both sides. Condition 4 applies when the skew angle is less than or equal to sixty degrees with a plate thickness "T", requiring a complete joint penetration weld.
