Reinforced concrete beams feature top and bottom steel bars with ninety-degree standard hooks extending one foot six inches typical into intersecting members. Number five dowels are provided at the intersection and corner as shown for top and bottom steel. A corner note permits the omission of dowels provided beam bars are bent one foot six inches minimum. These details govern rebar development and splicing at structural concrete beam intersections and corners.
