A C12 steel channel stringer frames into an HSS6x4 structural steel tube at the intermediate landing, supported by 3-inch long L3x2x3/8 angles on each side of the stringer. A 3/8-inch steel plate acts as a closure piece between the landing edge and the stair framing. The connection is welded with a 1/4-inch fillet weld featuring typical 1/2-inch returns where the C12 stringer meets the HSS6x4 tube. Lightweight concrete treads measuring 2 inches thick are supported by L1-1/2x1-1/2 angles welded to the stringer.
