An 8-inch concrete masonry unit pony wall is anchored to a concrete slab with vertical #5 dowels spaced at 16 inches on center with alternating hooks. The masonry wall includes two #4 horizontal bars at the top bond beam and #5 vertical reinforcement at 16 inches and #4 horizontal reinforcement at 24 inches throughout. The concrete slab features a thickened section at the wall with two continuous #5 bottom bars and slab reinforcement sized per plan. A stud wall bears on top of the pony wall, and a slab on grade is shown with an elevated slab alternative note. A forty-eight bar diameter lap splice length is specified for the vertical reinforcement.
