A hollow structural section beam frames into an intersecting hollow structural section column with a two-inch clearance and a four-inch offset. A structural steel seat angle supports the bottom flange of the beam, sized as L4x4x3/8 by zero feet six inches for beam depths between four and six inches, and L6x6x3/8 by zero feet six inches for beam depths of six inches or greater. A shear tab connects the top flange of the beam to the column face. Quarter-inch fillet welds secure the connection assembly at the top and bottom flanges.
