A hollow structural section post connects to a spreader beam per plan with a maximum one-half inch gap maintained between structural elements. Quarter-inch thick plates measuring four inches by six inches weld to each side of the hollow structural section beam with typical three-sixteenths inch fillet welds. Two three-quarter-inch diameter thru bolts in horizontal short slotted holes secure the assembly. Typical quarter-inch plates and thru bolts secure the hollow structural section per plan.
