A wide-flange steel post connects to a structural wide-flange roof beam through a 1-inch thick base plate. The connection is secured with four 1-inch diameter A490 bolts arranged symmetrically around the post flanges. The concrete slab-on-metal deck is omitted for clarity. Top of steel elevations vary and are sized per plan.
