This concrete masonry unit wall detail shows a vertical control joint with continuous horizontal reinforcement passing through every alternate horizontal bar and chord bar across the joint. Open end blocks and closed end blocks frame the joint opening, which is finished with joint sealant specified in the architectural documents. Solid grouting is provided where required per structural plans. Vertical reinforcement bars are placed at each end of the wall segment adjacent to the joint.
