A structural brace member fits over a gusset plate with a one-sixteenth inch clearance on each side. A three-quarter inch diameter erection bolt secures the brace to the plate through pre-drilled holes. The slot terminates in a drilled relief hole with a radius equal to half the gusset plate thickness plus one-sixteenth inch. Additional erection clearance is provided as needed along the slotted connection.
