An angle brace connects a steel beam to an existing concrete slab using structural angle members spaced at five feet on center maximum or per plan. The connection employs seven-eighths inch diameter slip-critical bolts through three-eighth inch connection plates, with an option for welded connections at the contractor's discretion. Five-eighth inch drilled-in expansion anchors secure the top angle assembly to the existing slab. The diagonal brace member frames into connection plates welded or bolted to the beam web and underside of the slab assembly.
