A structural steel bracing connection features a hollow structural section post with a standard hole, tied with L5x3x1/4 angles long legs vertical on each side containing vertical slotted holes. Three-quarter inch diameter ASTM A307 bolts are installed at the bottom of the slotted holes, finger-tightened with nuts and staked threads to permit movement. Three-sixteenth inch fillet welds are applied typically. The assembly accommodates movement per plan requirements.
