An incoming steel beam connects to the web of a supporting steel beam using a full-depth single plate shear tab. The shear tab has a minimum thickness of 3/8 inch and is sized per project notes. Fastening utilizes pretensioned bolts in standard holes with the number of bolts determined by Table E. The incoming beam features a cut on the bottom flange on the near side only, with the top of steel elevation set per plan. The shear tab is coped if required to clear the incoming beam fillet.
