Steel roof joists are arranged with cross bridging supplied by the joist manufacturer. Metal roof deck bears across the top chords of the steel joists. An expansion joint is located along the building grid line between adjacent framing bays. Three-sixteenths inch welds are specified for plate and deck connections as well as joist design upgrades, with dimensions referenced to detail seven on sheet S7.2.
