A C12x20.7 steel channel stringer connects to a wide flange beam with a top flange cope and complete joint penetration weld, secured by two three-quarter-inch diameter ASTM F3125 Grade A325 bolts. An intermediate HSS4x4x1/4 structural steel post with a three-sixteenth-inch cap plate welded on three sides supports the stringer. The post sits on a three-quarter-inch thick base plate anchored to a concrete over metal deck slab with half-inch diameter stainless steel expansion anchors providing a two-inch embedment depth. Weatherproofing and roofing details at the base are coordinated with the architectural drawings.
