A buckling-restrained braced frame base plate connection rests on three inches of non-shrink grout over a concrete foundation. The structural steel column web and flanges are welded to the base plate using complete joint penetration welds, supplemented by typical gusset and stiffener plates welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillets. Four ASTM F1554 Grade 55 threaded anchor rods with ten inches of projection above the footing secure the assembly, complete with double nuts or spoiled threads at the top and anchor rod nuts at the bottom. Air holes match the anchor bolt hole diameter, and corner gusset plates are provided where indicated.
