A structural steel beam frames into a column using a gusset plate welded to the member flanges and web. The beam web connects to the plate with complete joint penetration welds and three-eighths-inch minimum plate thickness. Erection bolts are provided as required during fit-up. The top and bottom flanges feature complete joint penetration welds with a thirty-degree bevel angle detail. Minimum clearances of one inch and two inches are maintained for proper weld access and fit-up.
