This four-foot by four-foot square concrete column is reinforced with twenty number seven vertical bars distributed around the perimeter. The lateral reinforcement consists of a number three outer tie spaced at six inches on center. Four number three cross ties are provided at twelve inches on center to provide lateral support for the interior vertical bars.
