A structural steel davit socket pedestal mounts directly to a supporting steel beam with a three-eighths inch weld to the beam flanges. Three-eighths inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web and flanges using one-quarter inch fillet welds. Additional one-half by four inch plates are attached to each side with one-quarter inch fillet welds to stiffen the connection for high concentrated loads. The davit socket pedestal center line aligns with the beam center line as sized per plan.
