A supported steel beam connects to a supporting beam web via a shear plate and bolts sized per schedule. A full-height stiffener plate is welded to the supporting beam web to match the shear plate when the beam frames on one side only. Dimensions specify a three-inch minimum spacing and one-and-a-half-inch minimum edge distances.
