These details show structural steel joist connections bearing on steel beams or girders for various joist series including LH, DLH, SLH, VS, and K series. The joist seats bear on the top flange of the supporting steel beam with specified minimum bearing clearances such as 4 inches for LH series and 2 1/2 inches for K and VS series. Connections are welded with fillet welds as indicated by standard weld symbols, or bolted using alternate ASTM A325-N bolts with slotted holes in the joist. Continuous hollow structural section members (HSS 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1/4) are included where required. Reference elevations are provided for top of steel matching structural framing plans.
