A structural steel column connects to a Grade 50 base plate measuring 2-1/2 inches thick, secured with nine 2-1/2-inch-diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor bolts equipped with 3/4-inch by 4-inch by 4-inch washers and double nuts. The base plate rests within a slab pocket as shown on the elevation, and features 1/2-inch welds as indicated. A minimum thread projection of 1/2 inch is required above the top of each nut. Slab control joints adjacent to the assembly reference detail 2/S3.23.
