A cold-formed steel wall with SureBoard sheathing bears directly on a 3/8-inch bent plate attached to a structural steel beam. The metal deck fastens to the support assembly with 1/2-inch diameter puddle welds at 12 inches on center maximum. A 5x2x3/8 long leg horizontal bent plate ties the cold-formed steel framing to the structural beam using 3/16-inch fillet welds spaced at 2 inches to 12 inches. The assembly accommodates parallel metal deck spans requiring a minimum 4-inch bearing on the bent plate.
