At edge of slab locations, hook reinforcement into the opposite face of the slab opening with a standard 180-degree hook at interrupted top and bottom slab reinforcement. Provide one-half of the interrupted reinforcement on each side of the opening at 3 inches on center minimum with two bars, except none are required if no reinforcement is interrupted at the interior slab opening face. Each corner of the slab receives one #3 bar measuring 4 feet zero inches in length centered in the slab. Maximum floor opening or interior column size is 3 feet zero inches with a maximum span dimension of 6 feet zero inches and 3 inches maximum clear spacing typically.
