An existing retaining wall foundation bears on a soldier pile per schedule, with elevation to be field verified. A bearing plate measuring one by twelve by the pile depth sits atop the pile. The gap between the bearing plate and the existing foundation is filled with high-strength non-shrink grout, maintaining a space of two to three inches. Four-inch treated hem-fir number two or better lagging spans between the underpinning piles with a four- to six-inch clearance.
