This assembly features a hollow structural section column welded to a three-eighths inch base plate, which is then bolted to a three-quarter inch plate atop a W14x48 wide flange pedestal. The pedestal is supported by a wide flange beam below, sized per plan. The hollow structural section column is connected to the base plate with a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld. The pedestal is connected to the wide flange beam below with complete penetration, double-bevel groove welds, as indicated by the C.P., D.C. notation. The total height of the pedestal assembly is one foot three inches.
