This wood-framed leveling platform supports a new proposed air conditioning unit over roof sheathing and support framing per schedule. The platform is constructed with 2x6 number one lumber secured in Simpson joist hangers. Three 3/8-inch diameter by 5-inch lag screws fasten each side of the equipment curb, totaling eight screws. The platform deck consists of 3/4-inch CDX plywood secured with 10d screw shank nails spaced at 4 inches on center at edges and 12 inches on center intermediately, with edge blocking omitted. A cant strip is installed at the curb base over the roof assembly, maintaining a 1-3/4 inch minimum edge distance.
