A cold-formed metal stud wall head connects to an overhead steel beam by others using a 54-mil track with 1-1/2-inch flanges sized to match the studs. A 54-mil Z-angle measuring 1-1/2 inches by 1-1/2 inches is spaced at 16 inches on center and secured with two 0.145-inch diameter fasteners. Two number 10 screws fasten the track to each clip, and two number 10 screws attach the track to each flange of each stud. The assembly maintains a minimum 1/2-inch clearance and a maximum 3/4-inch tolerance.
