A concrete foundation wall features a stepped footing profile incorporating a pipe trench with a specified minimum clearance around the pipe. The trench requires a minimum distance of eight inches on each side of the pipe diameter with no excavation below the specified line. Penetrations through the foundation wall include sleeves with a two-inch clear space between the sleeve and the pipe typical. Backfill above the trench consists of tamped sand topped with compacted backfill extending to grade.
