A beam connection frames into each side of an HSS column using top and bottom seat angles sized at L 4x4x3/8 by zero feet six inches long. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the angle to the hollow structural section column on both the top and bottom of the angle. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld connects the top and bottom of the angle to the beam. A maximum clearance of one-half inch is maintained between the beam web and the column face. The beam size and column size are determined per plan with elevation per plan.
