A structural pipe davit post is mounted over a steel beam supporting a roof deck. The post is capped with a three-quarter-inch thick plate with holes located per manufacturer requirements. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates are provided at the top flange if the incoming beam is not present on both sides. A steel beam connects to the supporting column web with a type C30 connection. Fillet welds of three-sixteenths inch secure the assembly.
