A hollow structural section hanging column connects to a cantilevered hollow structural section using a vertical gusset plate and framing angles. Four-inch by four-inch by one-quarter-inch angles are positioned on each side of the cantilevered hollow structural section, welded with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld on three sides. A vertical gusset plate extends through the assembly, connecting the members with through-bolts and referencing a separate detail for the gusset plate connection.
