A five-inch concrete slab is reinforced with number five bars at eighteen inches on center each way placed at the center of the slab. Reinforcing steel continues through a stepped transition with a two-foot dimension and a typical four-inch lap splice per sheet reference five over S zero point one. The assembly rests on compacted subgrade.
