An interior structural steel column connects to intersecting beams using diagonal angle bracing members fabricated from 2-1/2 inch by 2-1/2 inch by 3/16 inch angles. The angles are welded with typical 3/16 inch fillet welds and spaced with specified clearances including a 7 inch maximum clear dimension and a 2 inch typical clear dimension. A pipe passes adjacent to the diagonal members with a maximum 3 foot spacing dimension. Fasteners secure the beam web and flange connections to the column flanges.
