A buckling-restrained brace connects to a steel column and base plate via a gusset plate with bolted connections. Stiffener plates are provided near side and far side as required by the engineer of record or manufacturer. A doubler plate is welded to the base plate using a complete joint penetration weld. The column and base plate assembly rests on a concrete foundation with a concrete block-out at the slab on grade. Work point is located at the top of the baseplate.
