A circular hollow section steel column above connects to a supporting member via a twenty millimeter thick end plate and four bolts. A twelve millimeter diameter vent hole is provided on each side of the member and must remain unobstructed. The end plate welds to the circular hollow section with a twelve millimeter fillet weld. Connection detailing references detail two on sheet S6.4.
